Thanksgiving Feast Math Activity
Students were given the task of preparing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for 12 people (eight adults and four children.) After interviewing their family members who have had experience in preparing the Thanksgiving meal, students shared their background information with each other. They worked in groups to plan their menu, select items from various grocery store circulars, and were careful not to exceed their $75.00 budget. In addition to planning a delicious, well balanced dinner, they collected non perishable food items which were donated to local charities.
