Lower Salford > Afghanistan Student Service Project (January 2008)

As part of the student services project which was done in all of the classrooms at Lower Salford Elementary School, the homeroom mothers and students of Mrs. Pfister’s second grade class put together a collection of school supplies and handmade cards for the children in Afghanistan. These items were sent to Major Cecelia Schmalbach, a doctor at the Craig Joint Theater Hospital at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. She personally made sure the supplies were distributed to the local children and let Mrs. Pfister’s students know that their generosity brought many smiles to the children’s faces.

As a token of appreciation, an American flag was sent to Team #23. The flag was flown over the hospital in Afghanistan in honor of the students’ generous donations before it was sent to them in the United States.

How proud Mrs. Pfister’s class was to receive such a wonderful token of appreciation!
